Photobucket is a
great site and easy to use for uploading photos for posting on
message boards. There are other free picture hosting sites, but
Photobucket is amongst the most user friendly, so we'll use it as a
reference for folks to learn how to post photos on the message
board.Go to
www.photobucket.com and register (it's free). Once you are
registered and logged in, you can start adding pictures.
First, decide how many photos you will be uploading then click on
the arrow next to the “submit multiple pictures” box and select the
number of photos you will be uploading. If you choose to upload 4
photos, 4 “add picture” boxes will appear with a “browse” button
next to each box. Simply click on the “browse” button which will
pull up your computer’s directory. Go to the folder containing your
photos and select one photo for each box. Once you have done that,
then click the “select” box under the “add picture” boxes and your
photos will be uploaded to photobucket – scroll down to see your
photos, which are in a smaller thumbnail format to allow you to see
several on the page at once...when you post them, they will be full
sized.
Under each photo you will see 3 boxes (one labeled Url, one
labeled Tag, and one labeled Img) Click once on the box labeled Img
to highlight the contents of that box then right click on your mouse
and click on “copy”. (or once highlighted you can tap your "ctrl"
Key and your "C" key.)
Now you can post a message on DACA and where you want to insert
your photo, you simply place the cursor at the spot you want your
photo inserted, right click on your mouse, and click on “paste” (or
you can click where you want to paste the photo, and click your
"ctrl" and your "v" key this will also work to paste your picture.)
You'll see a fairly long strand of what appears to be non-sense, but
your photo will appear once you post your message.
To confirm that you entered the coding right, or to insure proper
placement, you may preview your post by clicking the "preview,"
button. This will open another window and show you what your post
will look like, once you submit it. If you are happy with your post
and pictures, simply click the SUBMIT button on the original page,
and then close the preview window, and you'll see your post.
The preview function is pretty nice, it saves you from having to
edit your posts so much.
And this concludes our lesson on posting pictures on the message
board.
