Dogo Rescue

It is sad but true, sometime dogs (and other domesticated animals) find themselves in a rescue shelter for one reason or another. Dogos are no different except that many people don't know what they are and often identify them as something else, often times this puts them on the fast track to euthinization.  For this reason Dogo rescue has become a big job. More Dogo's come in nearly every week.

Here are just a few of the Dogos that passed through rescue programs into their new "Forever Homes"

Zues
7 year old Zues came to rescue from the Michigan Humane Society. Owner surrendered. Reason? With a baby on the way, there just wasn't going to be room for both dog and baby. (Zeus came in weighing 170 lbs.) Zues attained his "CGC, TT" while in rescue, and was adopted and living out his life with the love of his new family.

Nelly
Need to have Liz give a quickie bio for Nelly..

Sweetie
Came to us at 2 years old, she had a high
prey drive, so she was a perfect candidate
for a hunter.. She now lives in Texas,
hunting  wild boar, and loving every minute
 of it.

These pages are to assist the efforts to adopt these stranded/surrendered Dogos. Photos (when available) and descriptions along with the necessary contact information will be provided to approved homes. Dogo Rescue will not take in nor place Dogo's with temperament problems. Sometimes rescue work is heartbreaking, but it's the success stories, and the "Happy Endings," that keep the rescue going.

For information regarding Rescuing/Surrendering a Dogo e-mail  Dogo Rescue.
Or e-mail a member of the DACA Board of Directors. If you have a dog that needs rescue, please post it on the message board. And DEAF Dogos in need of rescue should be directed towards the DDEAF and not posted on the DACA message board as they often require special care.
